Publish or Perish

"Publish or perish" is the motto among university professors, who must continually prove their worth by generating new works of scholarship.

On the Internet we're more likely to call this "creating content," but the moral is the same. If you don't continually add new information to your site it soon becomes stale and sinks in search engine ranking.

At a recent meeting of the Miami Drupal users group we were reminded to keep the bar low for what can be published to our sites.

There is a broad range of content from the highest level of an official press release down to a daily blog entry or calendar update. All of it is useful in continually refreshing our sites to reward existing visitors and continue to attract new ones.
